WHO WE ARE

Lucy Diaz | Director

2008 NJ State Coach of the Year | 2x Union County Coach of the Year

Over the past 40 years as a player & coach, Coach Diaz has collaborated successful & fun strategies, techniques, & teaching styles that have built strong foundations for numerous winning programs.

Coach Diaz began coaching at Seton Hall University where she led her first year team to a Div-2 Catholic Conf CHAMP title. The following year she became SHU’s FIRST Div-1 BIG EAST VB coach as the youngest VB coach in the BIG EAST and would take her team to a 4th seed finish in the BIG EAST VB Conf Tournament.

Coach Diaz has also gained much recognition in the 12 yrs as Head Varsity Coach at Cranford High School, where she & her staff revamped a program that celebrated CONFERENCE, COUNTY, & THE ONLY GROUP 2 PUBLIC SCHOOL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP titles. Her 2008 Group 2 State Championship Team was recently inducted into the Cranford Hall of Fame.

Coach Diaz and her staff are devoted to ensure the CRUSH program continues to promote girls in sports, by providing more opportunities for young girls to experience the love and spirit of the game.

CRUSH STAFF

Our staff consists of only the most qualified, caring, motivated, & experienced coaches & players. We have created a very unique JR COACH mentoring program extending opportunities for all area HS & college VB players to share their passion, building future leaders in our community. A priceless experience for our girls in sport.

Kean University Volleyball 2015-18

I have been playing volleyball for over 18 years. Among all of my volleyball experience over the years my absolute favorite place to coach this amazing sport is right here at Crush!!! I have been a Crush coach for 10 years now & keep coming back because of all of the hard working girls that are ready to turn volleyball into a lifestyle. Crush Volleyball is a program like no other! We instill the importance of confidence, energy, communication, proper skill technique but most importantly the love of the game.

Coach Cailyn Ross– Kean University Volleyball | 2020 - Current

Cailyn was born and raised in Whitefish, Montana and moved to New Jersey in 2018 to pursue her love of volleyball at the collegiate level. She attended Kean University where she played as a right side/outside and graduated in 2021 with a degree in Graphic Design. Cailyn is excited to share her love of volleyball with her players and is eager to watch them learn and grow, both on and off the court. She is passionate and dedicated in all that she does and is excited to be part of the Crush Family.
